It’s the end of the fourth quarter; two minutes left on the board. Your team’s down by ten, and your lungs feel like fire every time you take a breath. The sweat rolling down your head burns your eyes, making it difficult to stay focused on the game. It’s make or break time for you and your team. Quit, and go home a loser, or find some inner strength that will allow you to elevate your game to the next level. The buzzer blasts a long blaring tone. What happens next is up to you and the four other men wearing the same color.
For true basketball players, those who love the game more than they love life itself, this situation is one that they find themselves in on a regular basis. The game brings out a competitive streak in most , but the true athlete takes this competitive nature to the next level. They are ones who sweat day in, and day out. The people who put themselves on the court for hours a day, just to prepare for a tight game. These folks are always trying to become better players, better team mates. They push themselves beyond their limits nightly to make sure that they come out as the conquering force. For these few people failure is not an option, and quitting is considered blasphemy.
