10 Inspiring Quotes by Leonard Nimoy

I would love to start this article using the present tense. To say who Leonard Nimoy is, to announce his plans for the future, to reveal his next convention appearance. Sadly, Leonard Nimoy is with us no more. He sadly passed away in February 27th, 2015.

So, who was Leonard Nimoy?

Leonard Nimoy was, first and foremost, a human being in love with life itself. He was an actor, a singer, a photographer, author, poet, and a songwriter. Leonard was passionate about his art and he tried to convey his message through a variety of mediums. He is best known for portraying the half alien – half human Spock, the first officer aboard the starship Enterprise of the famous Star Trek franchise. He also played in numerous films and TV series, most notably Mission Impossible and Fringe. He was the director of three Star Trek feature films and lent his voice to numerous video games and cartoon films.

He also published two autobiographies, three photobooks, seven poetry collections, and five music albums.

I am not one for triumphant tributes. Nimoy, along with the cast of Star Trek and Roddenbery’s (Star Trek creator) vision, served as the ultimate inspiration to future astronauts, mechanics, linguists, philosophers, teachers, thinkers.
I will let some testimonials say what I seem to miss the words for.

“I loved him like a brother. … We will all miss his humor, his talent, and his capacity to love.”

George Takei (Star Trek co-star):
“An extraordinarily talented man and a very decent human being.”

Walter Koenig (Star Trek co-star):
“After working with Nimoy, I discovered my compassion, my intelligence and my humanity.”

President Barack Obama:
“A lifelong lover of the arts and humanities, a supporter of the sciences, generous with his talent and his time.”

Buzz Aldrin (Former NASA astronaut):
“A fellow space traveler because he helped make the journey into the final frontier accessible to us all.”
