10 Quotes on Terrorism

Last Tuesday, the media made sure the whole planet knew that terrorism, ISIS, was responsible for just another American death. Kayla Mueller, a 25 years old activist, was confirmed dead after her captors sent a message accompanied with relevant photos. They claimed she was killed during a Jordanian airstrike. The media has reasons to believe they may be lying and be responsible for her death. Responsible yes, but I am not so sure we can really know if Kayla was murdered or not. And I do not think it really matters at this point. What matters is that the world is at war. A war that has nothing to do with the war in movies, nothing to do with the stories of our grandparents. This is a new kind of war. A clash between money and corporations; a struggle for world domination. It is a false brawl of a fanatic religion against the sheriffs of the world. It is a battle between trained dogs, instructed to do the work for those who fiddle behind the stage.

Let’s see what Wikipedia has to say about terrorism:

“Terrorism is commonly defined as violent acts (or threat of violent acts) intended to create fear (terror), perpetrated for a religious, political, or ideological goal, and which deliberately target or disregard the safety of non-combatants (e.g., neutral military personnel or civilians). Another common definition is political, ideological or religious violence by non-state actors. Some definitions now include acts of unlawful violence and war.”

This is very interesting. By this definition, terrorism is every Media Corporation inspiring fear through its 8 o’ clock news, every new civil protection law, and every scaremongering political act. Terrorism are all the bombs, killing hostages and civilians, flying rockets and drones, and making people live in fear.

Terrorism is everywhere. Every terrorist out there is a freedom fighter for some. Every revolutionary army is a terrorist group for others.

Be critical and try to fight terrorism in all its forms. To get you inspired, I found ten of the wisest sayings on terrorism I could find online.
